How Taxing The Internet Effects You
Stopping The Spin About Taxing The Internet
Americans want to know the facts and truth about taxing the internet and they aren’t getting them. Americans are fed up with the lies and spins coming from the left-winged politicians and media. Government bureaucrats, via the Federal Communications Commission, want to change the internet from an open, free speech forum to a public utility. This change would allow the government to not only generate additional taxes, fees and new regulations, limit entrepreneurs in growing their businesses but also inhibit our freedom of speech.
Small Business Sales Tax
Taxing the internet will affect our entire economy. Why? Because of the e commerce sales tax, companies will in effect be increasing the prices consumers pay. And besides the consumer, who will be effected the most…small businesses, entrepreneurs and startups. Why? These business entities use the internet for marketing, advertising and promoting their businesses. The low cost helps keep their startup operation costs to a minimum. Without the ecommerce sales tax, businesses can keep their products and services competitive. Once online businesses have to collect taxes they lose their pricing advantage and consumers are forced to pay more. We understand that the internet allows consumers to comparative shop to make a retail or an online purchase…obviously our government bureaucrats don’t (or don’t care).
Who Collects Taxes?
Many business owners have poses the question “do I collect sales tax on out of state sales”? That answer will change with the government controlling the internet. The old rule was that any business which has a “significant business presence” in a state has to collect sales taxes. This business presence can be as simple as having an office, warehouse or employee located in a state. The no sales tax online rule will now read that all online business will be required to charge sales taxes on all purchases, period!
Your Freedom Of Speech
Once the Washington bureaucrats become the “gatekeepers” and take complete control of the internet, they can (and will) decide who gets to interact over the internet. If the government disagrees with what you say or even sell over the internet, they will shut you down whether you like it or not. The truth is that this is the new America. Your children and grand children will be growing up in a country where individual freedom doesn’t matter anymore.
